Guidelines and Instructions for Making Concrete Tiles:
Prepare the Mould:
Clean the mold very well before use so that no dirt, debris, or previous concrete residue is left. Lightly oil or apply a release agent to the inside of the mold so that tiles will come off easily after curing.
Mixing the Concrete:
Use the right concrete mix for tile production. A typical mix ratio is 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, and 3 parts aggregate. Add water gradually until the mix is workable but not too wet.
If needed, add color pigments or additives to the mix for the desired tile color or texture.
Pouring the Concrete: Pour concrete into the prepared mould cautiously. Lightly tap the sides of the mould to remove air bubbles and ensure even concrete distribution.
Fill the mould evenly up to the desired thickness in order not to overfill it .
Leveling the Surface: Use a flat tool, like a trowel, to level the concrete's surface, smooth, and even with the top of the mould.
Curing the Tile: Let the concrete to harden in the mold for at least hours or according to the manufacturer's specification.
Once the concrete has set partially, put a wet cloth or plastic cover on the mold to hold some moisture and hasten the curing process
Total curing takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours depending on the thickness of the tile and environmental conditions
Removing the Tile from the Mold: Gently take off the tile from the mold by either bending the PVC mold or gently tapping when the concrete has cured completely.
Use a rubber hammer to lightly tap the edges of the mold if loosening of concrete tile is required.
Finishing: Examine the tiles for sharp edges and perfect them using a sanding tool when needed after demolding.
Allow tiles to get dry completely before placing them in storage or for use.
Storage and Handling: Keep the tiles in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight exposure during curing to prevent cracking or fading.
Care should be taken when transporting and installing the tiles to avoid breakage.
